What's the
difference between Gel nails and Acrylic nails?
Gel nails and Acrylics nails are indeed very similar as they both extend the length of the nails. Gel nails are less odorless however they are both magnificent.
What is a Pink
and White Nail service?
A Pink and White nail service is basically a French Manicure and incorporates 2 colours onto the Acrylic Nail. This produces a much more natural looking nail. The tips of the nails are then sculpted using white acrylic,
and then the base of the nail is covered (overlaid) with a natural looking pink to match the clients skin tone.
Are wrapping the
nails better than Acrylic or Gel?
Every type of nail enhancements have their own qualities but are different in the application methods. Fibre glass nails or wrapping is very quick and easy to apply and is mainly used to repair
broken nails whereas Acrylic nails are very strong and gel nails are naturally shiny.
Can pregnant
women safely use nail polish?
Yes. The polishes available
today are a lot safer than ever.
What are Minx Nails?
Minx nails are a solid film with a heat
activated backing. It's the heat that gives Minx the conformability to fit easily over the curves of the nails. It then seals itself onto the nail bed.
Can I go in the bath or a pool wearing Minx?
Yes. Minx has a
waterproof seal that will not release until the seal is broken by lifting the
edge with a finger nail.
How long does Minx last?
It depends on several factors; the most important being proper application. On
fingernails the normal length of time is about 2 weeks, depending on care and the clients work environment.
On toenails Minx can last between 4-6
weeks. Minx nails do not chip, they might wear slightly at the edge of the
nails but will not wear any further.
Can Minx be applied on Acrylics, Gels and natural nails?
Minx can be applied to any of the above.
How long does Minx Nails take to apply?
Minx will take about the same amount of
time given to apply nail polish. This includes a base coat, two colour coats
and a top coat.
How long does it take to dry?
Minx Nails do not require drying time as they are a dry coating and there is no smudging.
Who is Shellac best suited for?
Shellac Nails are brilliant for people who want to maintain their own natural
nails. The formulation looks as good from day 1 to the end of week 2 and will not damage nail beds.
How
is Shellac different from a polish manicure?
A typical
nail polish manicure will dry by evaporation, which means your manicure is not cured until
2-3 hours after your service. Shellac is cured by a UV light so within literally minutes your nails are completely dry by the time your manicure is over. They will also be strong enough to withstand accidental knocks.
